The University has taken out an Enterprise Term Licence Agreement for Adobe Creative Cloud – All Apps. This allows students to purchase a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud for a period between 14th August to 13th August each year. The cost of this agreement (see below) represents a considerable saving compared to if being purchased elsewhere, even if using a student discount. However there is no pro rata reduction if you join the scheme late, so the earlier you join the more value you get.
What is it?
Adobe Creative Cloud provides access to software applications used widely in the creative arts, design, and media industries. There is also Cloud storage for content and access to shared assets plus a space to host your own portfolio. The full list of apps is as follows:
- Adobe XD
- Acrobat Pro
- Premiere Pro
- Premiere Rush
- After Effects
- Lightroom Classic
- Media Encoder
- Character Animator
Who Can Have It?
Students of the University qualify for this offer. You need to be doing a course which leads to a nationally recognised qualification such as an undergraduate degree, but not limited to this. Staff, visitors, casual students and those on ‘long-distance’ learning courses are not eligible.
Furthermore, if you are a student on a course that requires Creative Cloud, you will be able to purchase it without VAT being added. Your school will have specific details of this, including a special link to follow to purchase it at this reduced rate.
How Do I Get It?
You need to purchase it off the University’s online store from the following URL
You will be asked for your university email address which will be used to register the product in the form of your own Adobe ID*. You will also be asked for your Reading username and student number so as to help us identify you as an eligible student. Once the order is processed, you will be added to the portal and you will get an email from Adobe with further instructions on how to set up your account.
What Support / Training is available?
There is a wealth of resources available via your subscription as well as on the web. Students can also make use of the courses provided on LinkedIn Learning.
When does the Licence / Agreement run from?
The agreement will run for this academic year and next, but subscribers will need to re-purchase in August 2021 if they want to retain access for the following year. The agreement may be extended beyond 2022 if there is sufficient demand and the minimum number of subscribers can be reached.
* Please note that if you already have an Adobe subscription with this email address your new plan will be added to this. You may wish to point your original plan to a private address before you subscribe if you want to keep them separate.
